Time to Harvest Your Heirloom Seeds
In April 2016, as part of the Sunday School presentations, we gave a talk to the 1st through 5th graders about gorwing Heirloom seeds. We also provided the children with a small plastic covered container with 4 peat pellets planted with seeds ( two for Kentucky Wonder Bean seeds and two for Calendula flower seeds) so they could take the container home, germinate the seeds and plant the small plants in their own gardens.
As a followup to that class, we wanted to share the following growing instructions for the plants as well as links to videos that might prove useful to growing and harvesting the heirloom seeds for more plants the following year. There is a good link below that also explains the differences between heirloom and hydrid seeds.
